About

Rags to Riches

Canadian born David Samuel is The Entrepreneur Monk. David is a rag to riches story, making his first million at 25. Reaching his financial target by the age of 29, he sold six of the eight companies he had created to travel internationally for several years. To date, David has owned companies in over 25 industries and 15 countries. Combined with his business ventures, teaching and consulting, David is devoted to the never ending exploration of the nature of the mind. He has resolved the riddle of why we do what we know is bad for us yet do not do what we know is beneficial and teaches that very effectively. David lives in Auckland, New Zealand when not teaching or consulting overseas. He has students internationally who use him as both a dynamic business mentor and a spiritual resource for understanding and applying the mystical teachings of the many traditions David has studied.

“I am not a teacher, professional speaker, philosopher, or any of the titles that people look to associate with. I am simply a person who has discovered how to live a balanced life with a full and positive experience of every moment. What I do is talk, so one may say I am a good talker. I speak only about things I have personally experienced and come from my whole being rather than my head of intellectually accumulated information.

I started with nothing, and made my first million by 25. At that point, I owned eight companies. By 30 I had business ventures in over 25 industries and 15 countries. Then I sold off most of my businesses and travelled the world for several years. A full circle of life experiences from no food for days to millionaire, back to a simple life.

There is a big difference between a teacher and the creator of a system of thought. The teacher reads books, takes courses and then teaches what they have learnt, intellectually and from the head. The creator does not need notes and preparation, they speak from the heart, from their whole being, with emotion and power. Their energy is inspiring and uplifting because it is not theory, it is life itself.”
