If you have constant remembrance and express thoughts of appreciation and gratitude for everything you received, there is very little room in your heart and mind for self-pity and negative emotions because it is always filled with love and gratitude.
This is why everyday you should remember the gifts you have received, and by gifts I mean anything someone did for you as well as gave you, and feel gratitude and express it verbally to that person to make it conscious and stronger in your own mind. This way, there is less time for your mind to dwell on fears and negative thoughts. Eventually you will find your mind and heart have nothing in them but love.
